May 2025 Business of the Month

Bauman's Farm Market

Bauman Farms has gone through many changes over the last century.  It was bought at auction in 1908 by Joe and Emma Bauman.  The next generation, Jim and Barb, converted the farm from a dairy to growing fruits and vegetables in the 1950’s.  Their son and wife, the current Jim and Barb have been operating the farm since 1984.   They added a bakery, twenty greenhouses, and much more.  Today, the fourth generation, sons Paul, Dan and Stephen are continuing the family business.

You can visit the greenhouses to select your annuals, perennials, vegetable plants, and hanging baskets, or head out to pick your own strawberries and peas (in season of course).  The market carries a large selection of crops.  Sweet corn, tomatoes, pumpkins, and squashes are the most popular.

Jim and Barbara have been operating the Farm Market for over 40 years.  They have five children: Paul, Daniel, Stephen, Catherine and Caroline.  With Dan’s marriage to Julie Howell, the birth of their children make 5 generations that have lived on the farm.  Steve and his wife Katie Hackett-Bauman, hope to add to the clan soon.

This hardworking family is looking forward to continuing the tradition into the future, towards the next century.

The Farm Market opened Thursday, April 25th for the season and is ready for visitors.

Congratulations to the Farm Market and to all the five generations of family!
