Barry's Column
Fall is upon us. School is back in session and it won’t be long before the leaves turn and we start complaining about the cold weather and the snow!
We have our Power Hour's back on the schedule after a summer break and we have Eat, Drink and Connect and Noontime fun along with our monthly breakfasts on the calendar to give you opportunities to meet other business owners, brand your business, and let people know what your business can do to help them (or one of their colleagues, neighbors, or family).
We have restructured our Membership Services committee into two committees. One will be focused on Events and Honors and will be working on Eat, Drink, and Connect and noontime events as well as Business of the Month, Business Person of the Year, and our annual longevity awards for our members. The other will work on membership Recruitment and Retention focusing on our keeping and growing our membership.
After many years at the helm of the Membership Committee, Carolyn Montanaro has handed over the reins for Events and Honors to Denise Baller. Thank you, Carolyn, for your outstanding service to the Chamber!
Tom DeRoller has agreed to lead the Recruitment and Retention Committee – an area in which he is very familiar. Thank you, Tom and Denise, for stepping up into leadership roles with the Chamber!
I am not going to walk you through all the upcoming events – they are all in the newsletter. Please take a minute to scroll through it and see all the exciting opportunities the Chamber offers its members.
Looking forward to seeing you all at breakfast on the 27th!

Northeast Quadrant Advanced Life Support, Inc., is located at 780 Ridge Rd, Webster. Syed Ahmed Mustafa is President and Jeannette Aguglia is Office Manager
NEQALS primarily provides emergency Advanced Life Support (ALS) in the towns of Webster, Ontario, and Penfield. NEQALS is certified by the New York State Department of Health (DOH) as a Paramedic intercept agency, meaning that NEQALS provides service using first response vehicles, also known as "fly cars", that respond to emergency medical calls along with ambulances from other fire department and ambulance agencies.
NEQALS also provides emergency medical technicians to augment other agency's ambulances as the pool of available volunteers continues to decrease. These staffing agreements are really looked upon as partnerships with these other agencies to ensure that timely emergency medical services are provided to residents and businesses in the area. Today they staff West Webster Fire Department’s ambulance, Webster Emergency Medical Service, Marion Ambulance, Walworth Ambulance, Williamson Ambulance, and Richmond Ambulance.
Since Webster EMS was founded in 2016, they have provided “stand-by” at over 100 community and school events at no charge. Their community education group has trained thousands of people in the community over the past 30 years on CPR/AED use, first aid, and other courses, enabling citizens to become the very important first link in the chain of survival.

New York State Law Change
Attention all Employers:
As part of the Governor’s Budget, passed by the legislature and signed by the Governor and effective immediately, employers are required to allow employees time off, with pay, to vote in any public election. Additionally, employers are required to post that information conspicuously where employees will see it.
The NYS Board of Elections has provided a “poster/notice” for you to use that meets the requirements of the law. I have attached that to this email and provided you with a link here: https://www.elections.ny.gov/NYSBOE/elections/AttentionEmployees.pdf
The attached/linked PDF provides the actual law on page one and the “poster/notice” on page two. Please read them both and note that this notice to employees is to be posted at least 10 workdays before each election and remain up until the polls close for that election. THE NEXT PUBLIC ELECTION IN NYS IS THE PRIMARIES TO BE HELD ON JUNE 25TH, SO THIS NOTICE NEEDS TO BE POSTED TODAY.
